Holding Slovenske elektrarne (HSE) is Slovenia’s largest power generation group and a leading electricity producer and trader on the national wholesale market. With a diversified portfolio—including hydropower plants, thermal power plants, and a coal mine, HSE is focused on providing safe, reliable, high-quality electricity to domestic customers while expanding its presence in wider European markets.
As the Group’s reporting scope grew, collecting, consolidating, and reporting financial data across 16 subsidiaries became increasingly complex. Excel-driven processes and manual coordination created bottlenecks, increased the risk of errors, and limited transparency across consolidation phases, especially under quarterly and annual close deadlines.
To modernize statutory and management consolidation and strengthen management reporting, HSE evaluated six vendors and selected CCH Tagetik, supported during implementation by and local partners Inulta and CRMT. The solution introduced a common database and tighter process integration, reducing duplication and enabling more consistent, controlled reporting across the Group.
Results and benefits:
- 30% faster cycles for consolidation and reporting
- 40% less time spent synchronizing data between companies
- 33% fewer errors by reducing multiple entries and manual handoffs
- Improved quality, transparency, and reporting credibility across consolidation phases
- A common data repository enabling period comparisons, historical trend analysis, and stronger planning support
